Oolong Tea is made from the Camellia Sinesis plant. Produced in Darjeeling, Oolong tea is semi-fermented and has two leaves and one bud.
We are a proud manufacturer, supplier, and exporter of Oolong tea due to the high demand for a fine quality products from overseas.
The main difference between Oolong tea and Green tea is that Oolong tea is slightly oxidized while green tea isn't oxidized at all. However, the oxidation level is significantly lower than that of black tea. As the oxidation level of oolong tea can vary, so can its taste which is why Dhanvate has prepared a set of Standardized Operating Protocols to get the best and most consistent results in every batch.
According to the theory of "Tribute Tea", the name "Oolong tea" is a tribute to its predecessor, the Longfeng tea cake, which was famous during the Song Dynasty (960-1279). The name "oolong" was used to replace the old term when loose tea became more popular. The tea is thick, long, and curly, hence the name oolong (literally, dark dragon).
While there is another theory called "Wuyi Theory". According to this hypothesis, oolong tea was initially found in the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian, China, and was called after a region of those mountains.
